Foundations of Health Science & Technology is an introduction to healthcare careers. The course is designed as an overview of healthcare occupations and the skills required in the health service industry. The course includes academics in healthcare, communications systems, legal responsibilities, ethics, teamwork, employability skills, health maintenance and safety practices, and information technology applications. This course provides an overview of the healthcare systemâpast, present, and futureâand the impact technology has on the quality of healthcare services. The course allows students to research the careers of various health professionals who service, diagnose, and treat various health conditions and diseases in hospitals, clinics, private offices, schools, colleges, and universities, as well as other health service agencies. The course examines the medical needs of a culturally diverse society and examines infectious and safety principles and techniques crucial to healthcare employees and patients.
